Country Store Health Foods
Service with a smile from a family-run business. Country Store is a keen supporter of ethical trade and sells a variety of Fairtrade products. In addition to beverages including loose and individually portioned teas, herbal teas and coffee, the store's increasing range includes chocolate, snack bars and some especially delicious solar-dried exotic fruits including organically grown mango strips from Burkina Faso, organically grown papaya pieces from Sri Lanka, and paper-thin pineapple slices from Uganda, all grown by farmers who are guaranteed a good return for their produce.
Country Store are happy to try to obtain any Fairtrade foods not currently stocked.

Smorgers
Situated at the end of Fore Street, Smorgers Delicatessen was set up by a successful local catering company with a strong emphasis on locally produced foods. From the everyday to the exotic, there is sure to be something to suit every taste. Smorgers' range of local produce is complemented by its ongoing commitment to fair trade, and the range includes the world-famous Van Houten company's chocolate powder, produced from Fairtrade cocoa and sugar to add a touch of the exotic to your bedtime drinks.

The Co-operative, West Hill
As an ethical organisation The Co-operative has carried Fairtrade produce for many years and plays an active part in Fairtrade Fortnight. Its widely advertised decision to stock Fairtrade bananas in all its stores is just one small part of its involvement in fair trade. St Austell Co-op also has an excellent range of other seasonal fresh fruit, including grapefruits, oranges and other citrus fruit, pineapples, grapes, mangoes and avocados. Several years ago The Co-operative resolved to make all its own-brand coffee and chocolate Fairtrade. Other products to be found in the St Austell branch include wine, tea, cakes, biscuits and snacks, and you can do your bit towards helping to reduce the production and disposal of plastic bags by carrying your shopping home in a tough, roomy, reusable Fairtrade cotton or jute bag.

Oxfam
Oxfam's work has always gone beyond famine relief. One of the first retailers to promote fairly traded goods, Oxfam was also one of the founding organisers of the Fairtrade Foundation. St Austell Oxfam shop specialises in second-hand books, music and film, together with a range of Fairtrade cards, T-shirts, chocolate, muesli bars, music CDs, notepaper and envelopes.

St Austell Brewery
For an interesting day out, why not visit St Austell Brewery? This long-established, award-winning company offers
guided tours of the production process and not only serves Fairtrade beverages in its visitor centre
but also encourages the managers of all its public houses to use Fairtrade tea, coffee and sugar,

Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park
Round off your visit to St Austell's China Clay Heritage Museum and Country Park with a relaxing cup of Fairtrade tea or coffee and a sandwich or snack in the Museum's own café, and pick up a Geobar to eat on your way home!
The site has recently been extended with an imaginatively designed circular exhibition building, used for displays of work by local artists documenting or interpreting aspects of the china clay industry once prevalent in the area.
The museum is situated two miles out of St Austell on the Bodmin Road and is also accessible on foot or by bicycle via the Clay Trails from the town and the Eden Project.

Cornwall Centre for Volunteers
In addition to its employees drinking Fairtrade tea and coffee, Cornwall Centre for Volunteers offers prospective volunteers a cup of Fairtrade tea or coffee when they call in to its premises at 17, Duke Street. This year the Centre in St Austell will be hosting a Fairtrade tea and coffee morning as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.
Restormel Borough Council
A major employer in the area, Restormel Borough Council is encouraging its employees and councillors to support fair trade by serving Fairtrade beverages in its canteens and at its council meetings. It also plays an indispensable and active role in our bid to become a Fairtrade Town.
